Thank you for your interest in helping save a life by adopting a pet for your family. Please remember that adopting an animal is a SERIOUS commitment. Both dogs and cats cost money and require lots of attention and love, therefore, we ask that you seriously think through your decision.
Sadly, too many animals are adopted and returned simply because folks didn't think adoption through. We highly suggest that you research what is best for your particular situation, read some books, research on-line, and plan to participate in a training course in order to make the adoption experience a positive and lasting one.
Our animals are typically fostered for several weeks prior to being available for adoption. During this time, OPP makes sure that every dog/cat receives their required vaccinations, are micro-chipped and if old enough, neutered/spayed. We make every effort to ensure that our adopters receive a happy, healthy dog or cat.
OPP works with several out of state rescue groups. Some of our dogs and cats have a more successful time being adopted in other parts of the country. OPP makes the decision on each animal whether they will be adopted locally or transported out of state in order to find their "furever home".
Below is a link to our adoption application. Once completed, a representative of OPP will contact you for any additional information and/or to discuss your application.
